OUR TEAM

As a result of increased demand for our unique services, RDT has expanded so that it can now offer its clients more. This expansion involved relocating its offices to larger premises in Rocklea, Brisbane; opening a Sydney office and establishing our own fabrication workshop. RDT now has three very experienced engineers, four full time design draftsman, office staff and seven fully qualified tradesmen working our workshop.

 

Stuart Garbutt – Managing Director

Prior to RDT, Stuart Garbutt worked for Visy Industries, Australia’s largest recycling company, for over 9 years. Stuart’s most recent role with Visy was that of Projects Manager. In this role, Stuart was responsible for the design, construction, installation, and commissioning of over ten new Material Recovery Facilities.

Since RDT’s inception, Stuart has been involved in all projects, ranging from small regional MRFs of between 2 to 5 tonnes per hour up to large scale MRF’s over 25 tph. Stuart has focused his attention in designing new recycling projects, incorporating the latest technology from around the world.

Stuart’s key areas of experience in the Recycling Industry include:

• Design of new Recycling Facilities
• Upgrade of existing Recycling Facilities
• Project Management of large projects
• Financial justifications of projects
• Operations Management of Recycling Facilities

Stuart holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) and is currently studying towards an MBA, having already achieved a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration.

Chris Rostron – Workshop Manager

Chris joined the team with the start up of RDT’s own workshop at Rocklea. This expansion and Chris’s experience allows RDT to increase its production capabilities and ensures the highest level of quality control of all our key components. Chris effectively combines his previous experience in industrial sales and manufacturing supervision with his management skills to ensure that the workshop is run efficiently with quality being the main focus. Chris is currently upgrading his professional status by studying towards a Bachelor of Business at the Queensland University of Technology.

Glenn Byrne – Design Draftsman

Glenn Byrne brought with him a wealth of experience in Autocad and Inventor. He also brings with him a fresh, practical and innovative approach to design as our Design Draftsman. Glen has easily integrated into the RDT pool of multi faceted professionals as he has very effectively combined his project engineering, estimating and supervision experience with practical and cost effective designs on Autocad. Glen has had many years experience in structural design drafting as well as pipe work design. Glenn has completed his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and he is currently upgrading his professional status by studying towards a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at the Queensland University of Technology.

Jaan Hurditch – Design Draftsman

Due to our increased demand in this specialist market we have expanded to offer more design services. Jaan brings with him extensive experience in design drafting in Autocad and Inventor allowing us to offer more. His previous experience includes mechanical drawings in Inventor with a prominent earthmoving company. He is currently upgrading his professional status by completing his last year in a combined degree of Bachelor of Technology and Mechanical Engineering at Queensland University of Technology.

Debbie Myles – Office Manager

Deb manages the office for RDT in Brisbane. Deb has vast experience in managing company systems and procedures. Deb’s key responsibilities include:

• Accounts payable / receivable
• Implementation of management procedures, including quality systems and project scheduling.
• Implementation and maintenance of RDT OH&S systems.
• Marketing and project procurement.
